Banner Installation

🔧 Banner Installation Guide

Installing your banner or decal properly is key to making it last and look its best. While this guide has your back, we always recommend professional installation for larger decals, especially if you’re unsure. Improper installation voids replacements.

⚠️ Important Notes Before You Begin:

  • Avoid cold or damp weather. Best temp: 15°C (59°F) or warmer.
  • Don’t get it wet for 48 hours after installing.
  • Rear wipers? Avoid using them until the vinyl fully cures.
  • No wet installs. Dry method only — it’s cleaner and more precise.
  • Dust-free, shaded area for best results in terms of application

    🔧 What You’ll Need:
  • Clean microfiber towel & isopropyl
  • Masking or painter’s tape
  • Sharp blade or razor (optional, for trimming)
  • Squeegee or credit card
  • Spray bottle with water + a small drop of dish soap
  • A dust-free, shaded install area (avoid direct sunlight or wind)

🧼 Step 1: Prep the Surface

Clean the area where the decal will go. The goal: no dust, no grease, no wax.

We recommend:

  • Microfiber + isopropyl alcohol (ideal for glass)
  • Or hot soapy water (rinse off all residue)
  • ❌ No ammonia-based glass cleaners – they leave a coating that ruins adhesion.

🧰 Step 2: Prep the Decal

Even though we pre-press each decal before shipping, it may loosen in transit.

  • Gently press the vinyl into the transfer tape using a felt squeegee, microfiber-wrapped card, or your hand.
  • Don’t go too hard — just enough to remove air bubbles and secure the design.

📏 Step 3: Position the Banner

  • Use masking tape to line up and hold the decal in place.
  • Double-check placement — once it touches the glass, it’s stuck.

📄 Step 4: Remove the Backing Paper

  • Peel the backing away at a 45° angle, left to right.
  • If the vinyl lifts with the backing, press it back down and repeat Step 2.
  • Take your time — be especially gentle with small, detailed parts.

💪 Step 5: Apply It

  • Start from the center and press outward.
  • Smooth it down using a felt squeegee, microfiber-wrapped card, or your hand.
  • Push out any air bubbles. Large ones? Pop with a pin and press flat.

⏳ Step 6: Let It Set

  • Wait 10–15 minutes for adhesion to settle before moving forward.

🧵 Step 7: Remove the Transfer Tape

  • Peel parallel to the surface (not upward).
  • If vinyl starts lifting, stop — press it back down and repeat Step 5.
